Oct. 17 | Víctor Rodríguez finishes acrobatic volley at Orlando City
Víctor Rodríguez needed fewer than three minutes to give the Sounders a 1-0 lead on the road in Orlando when he coolly and skillfully volleyed home a looping ball from Kelvin Leerdam. Rather than wait for the ball to come down, Rodríguez leapt and met the ball in mid-air, sending a one-timed shot over the head of onrushing goalkeeper Adam Grinwis in what was an eventual 2-1 Seattle win.
Despite an injury-prone year, Rodríguez finished with five goals and six assists in just 14 starts and was brilliant toward the end of the regular season as the Sounders stormed to a first-round postseason bye.
