It sure is nice to have Nicolás Lodeiro back, isn't it?
The 29-year-old midfielder shined in Saturday's 2-1 win over D.C. United, scoring a goal and adding endless energy in his first match back since returning from Uruguay's camp. For his efforts, he was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 15. Although he didn't make the FIFA World Cup squad, Lodeiro channeled that disappointment into a complete performance this weekend.
“I’m happy to be back here,” Lodeiro said after the match. “Obviously I would have preferred, and my peers would have preferred, for me to be at the World Cup, but what happened, happened, and now I have to compose myself and recover and be here with my team."
