Three Seattle Sounders teammates found themselves squaring off at Arnos Vale Sporting Complex in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, and all three played a part in the final scoreline in a crucial CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match.
Sounders defender Joevin Jones scored the opening goal for Trinidad and Tobago, drawing the match level after S2 forward Myron Samuel converted a goal at the end of the first half for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Sounders forward Oalex Anderson provided an assist in the 77th minute to Shandel Samuel, but Trinidad and Tobago ultimately earned the 3-2 win.
The goal was the third of Jones' international career with T&T, and the 18th of Samuel's career with St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The teams will now travel to Port of Spain for the second match in this series on Tuesday, March 29 at 4 p.m. PT.
