After a laundry list of injuries to begin the 2018 season, the Seattle Sounders finally have some good news.
Head Coach Brian Schmetzer told KJR radio host Dave “Softy” Mahler on Tuesday night that he was very confident both forward Will Bruin and midfielder Víctor Rodríguez would be able to play at Real Salt Lake on Saturday (6:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
When asked if he had $10 to bet on both players featuring, Schmetzer said, “I’d put $9.89 on both of them being available this weekend. I’m hoping that they’re both involved in the match, yes, I am.”
Bruin leads the team with three goals but has missed the last two matches because of a partially torn plantar fascia. Rodríguez has been hampered by a knee sprain and has yet to debut in 2018. He scored three goals in just over 700 minutes in the regular season and postseason last year after Seattle signed him from Spain’s Sporting Gijón.
