Sounders FC works to advance equity for all - in play and in life.
What we mean:
To play is human, and it is every child's right. We work alongside our charitable arm, RAVE Foundation, to bring small fields for free play to underserved communities throughout Washington. Those fields anchor programs that use soccer to inspire wellness, learning and joy without barriers.
We have a goal to help make Washington the most inclusive, safest state to play youth soccer in the country. We are strong allies with the broader LGBTQ+ community to advocate for gender equity - and to use soccer and other sports as a welcoming space for all.
We center and affirm the BIPOC community by amplifying the voices of experts to inform our anti-racist work and to cultivate an inclusive society. We use our platform to educate others around the systemic impacts of racism, privilege, bias and intolerance. We invest in BIPOC youth through programs and partners that use soccer to center health equity, play equity and environmental equity, and we are committed to developing an organizational pipeline of diverse talent by providing BIPOC youth career pathway programs and opportunities. We intentionally center our spend on the ground floor with BIPOC-owned small businesses.
Sounders FC believes that mental and physical wellness are innately connected and should be accessible to all. We work with expert partners to bring youth the tools and resources they need to effectively care for their whole body health.
