In a match where a win would automatically clinch a playoff spot for the Sounders, getting off to a good start at home would be paramount. Midfielder VÃctor RodrÃguez agreed.
The 28-year-old midfielder scored in the 31st minute for the Rave Green, giving Seattle a 1-0 halftime lead over FC Dallas on Sunday afternoon. From the center of the park, forward Clint Dempsey found Rodriguez to his right. He took two dribbles and sent his shot past the onrushing Jesse Gonzalez for his second goal of the season.
Rodriguez returned to action after missing last match at Philadelphia due to the birth of his daughter, Astrid, in Barcelona.
