Seattle Sounders FC 2 forward Seyi Adekoya and goalkeeper Tyler Miller have been named to the USL Week 2 Team of the Week reserves for their standout performances in the 2-1 victory over Portland Timbers FC 2 on Sunday. Both players are on first-team contracts but have agreed to Standard USL Loans with the club, allowing them to play with the first team and S2 throughout the season.
Adekoya, 21, makes the Team of the Week after scoring his first professional goal with just his third touch of the ball after coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute with S2 trailing 1-0. Two minutes after scoring the equalizer, the Homegrown Player served in a dangerous cross that led to Zach Mathers’ match-winning goal.
Miller, 24, kept S2 in the contest with several crucial saves throughout the match. In the 78th minute, the young goalkeeper came up with a massive penalty-kick stop to ensure the Rave Green left with all three points.
