U.S. Soccer selects Rio Tinto Stadium to host June 3 World Cup Qualifying tune-up match against Venezuela

U.S. Soccer has selected Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, to host the United States’ World Cup Qualifying tune-up match on June 3 against Venezuela. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. PT and will be televised on FS1, Univision and UDN.

The U.S. is 3-0-0 all time at Rio Tinto, including two wins in World Cup Qualifying. The USMNT will then travel to Commerce City, Colo., for a June 8 qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago before taking on Mexico at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11.

“Salt Lake City has always been a fantastic host for the National Team,” U.S. men’s national team head coach Bruce Arena said. “When you combine the elements of the fan support, the stadium and the altitude, it's a perfect match as we prepare for the critical World Cup Qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico.”

The United States is 3-0-1 all time against Venezuela.
