The Seattle Sounders are visiting Toronto FC on Wednesday (4:30 p.m. PT; FS1, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) in a rematch of the last two MLS Cups. Here are three matchups to watch:
Kim Kee-hee vs. Sebastian Giovinco
Sebastian Giovinco is one of Major League Soccer’s most lethal attackers and is searching for his fourth straight season of at least 16 goals. Kim Kee-hee, meanwhile, has looked incredibly comfortable and promising on the Sounders’ back line in his first two starts. Seattle did not allow a goal with him on the field in either match.
Cristian Roldan vs. Marky Delgado
Two of the United States’ young and up-and-coming midfielders will go head-to-head on Wednesday evening. The two 22-year-old box-to-box players are each vital cogs on their respective teams and are key distributors in attack. Whomever gets the best of the other will go a long way in determining the outcome of the match.
Will Bruin vs. Michael Bradley
With TFC center backs Drew Moor and Nick Hagglund sidelined with a quad and hamstring strain, respectively, Head Coach Greg Vanney has dropped defensive midfielder Michael Bradley back a line and has employed a 4-5-1 formation, a shift from his usual 3-5-2. This shuffling of personnel, especially one that has Bradley playing out of position, should bode well for Will Bruin, who will be looking to nab his third goal of the season.
