June 23 | Clint Dempsey ties Seattle Sounders all-time regular-season goalscoring record
Clint Dempsey tied Fredy Montero’s club record with his 47th goal and his first of the season. In the 22nd minute, Dempsey slid across the front of goal to tap in a ball from Will Bruin to equalize after Aleksandar Katai gave the Fire a 1-0 lead 13 minutes earlier.
Dempsey, who retired on Aug. 29, finished his Sounders career with 47 goals and 28 assists and is the club leader in postseason goals with six.
