The Sounders will kick off 2018 with a Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League series against El Salvador’s Santa Tecla on Feb. 22 before opening the MLS campaign on March 4 against LAFC.
NOTE: These plays were voted on by a multiple SoundersFC.com staffers and compiled on a point system. Check out the full schedule HERE.
After missing the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place, Clint Dempsey returned in a massive way at home. The Sounders and Whitecaps played to a scoreless draw over the first 135 minutes of the series, but the second half at CenturyLink Field was all Dempsey.
In the 56th minute, Dempsey was on the receiving end of a great build-up play with Cristian Roldan, Will Bruin and Harry Shipp, and Deuce made no mistake with his left-footed shot from the top of the 18-yard-box. He would add another later in the match to seal the deal and help Seattle advance to the Western Conference Championship.
