In regards to the weather, though, it's a completely different story. Of the eight matches the Sounders have played in Kansas City, the weather has been all over the place. In their first meeting in 2009, it was 49 degrees. In 2016, it was 95 degrees. This Sunday, it could be even more extreme. The current forecast expects a kickoff temperature just below freezing, which is colder than MLS Cup 2017 in Toronto (34 degrees).
