SEATTLE, WASH. – Tacoma Defiance defender Denso Ulysse last week underwent successful surgery to repair a stress fracture in the left tibia at Virginia Mason Medical Center in downtown Seattle. The procedure was performed by Dr. Michael Morris of Virginia Mason Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Ulysse began rehabilitation immediately following the procedure.
Ulysse, 20, has appeared in 15 games for Tacoma Defiance this season, making 12 starts. He has recorded three shots, including one on goal, in 1,152 minutes. Ulysse was named to the USL All-League Second Team and the USL 20 Under 20 List at the conclusion of the 2018 regular season. He led the club with 28 starts and 2,466 USL minutes played in 2018, and started every game in which he appeared.
Tacoma Defiance (7-19-6, 27 points) plays its final road match of the season tonight at New Mexico United (6:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The club then concludes its 2019 campaign with a home match at Cheney Stadium on Saturday, October 19 vs. Austin Bold FC (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
