For the past 40 years, F.X. McRory’s, located across the street from Sounders FC’s front office in Pioneer Square, has been an iconic spot in the neighborhood, particularly for sporting events. Last month, the oyster bar and steak chop restaurant announced it would be moving from its location on the corner of Occidental and King.
On Friday, Sounders FC gifted owner Mick McHugh with a personalized jersey. Owner Adrian Hanauer, Chief Operating Officer Bart Wiley and Vice President of Business Operations Taylor Graham were on site to deliver McHugh his special Rave Green gift.
The number 77 honors the year the restaurant opened its doors (November 1977). With a large dining area and “one of America’s largest collections of premium spirits,” as the restaurant’s website states, F.X. McRory’s quickly became a favorite for fans at the Kingdome and then eventually CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field. Thousands of Sounders FC supporters have passed by F.X. McRory's during the traditional March to the Match and enjoyed the establishment before, during, and after each contest on the Xbox Pitch.
