RENTON, WASH. – Credential applications are currently being accepted for media members wishing to cover Leagues Cup 2025, with the deadline to apply set for July 22. The third consecutive edition of the Concacaf-sanctioned competition will run between July 29 and August 31 and feature a new format with all 18 clubs from Liga MX and 18 qualified clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS), as well as interleague matches exclusively for the entirety of Phase One and the Quarterfinals stage. Sounders FC begins its Phase One action against Cruz Azul on Thursday, July 31 before facing Santos Laguna on Sunday, August 3 and Club Tijuana on Wednesday, August 6, with all games taking place on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field.
All Sounders FC’s Phase One matches will be played at Lumen Field against Liga MX opponents including a rematch against Liga MX’s side Cruz Azul, with single-match tickets available for purchase HERE. Those wishing to take their matchday experience to the next level can take advantage of the club’s 2025 Partial Packs, a special package that offers fans a curated selection of matches, providing them with the flexibility of choosing the game and schedule that best suits their passion and needs.
The online media credential application is operated by Leagues Cup staff. Sounders FC media credentials are not accepted for Leagues Cup home matches at Lumen Field. Media wishing to attend the tournament this year must apply through the Leagues Cup credential application system by July 22.
Media wishing to apply for a credential this year should follow the two-step process detailed below.
- Step 1: All media must first apply for a tournament credential in order to be considered for a match credential. Approval for a tournament does not guarantee approval for individual matches.
- Step 2: Once approved, media will receive individual links to apply to a match-specific media credential. Media wishing to attend a match should apply by 2:00 p.m. PT seven days prior to Phase One matches and two days prior to each Knockout Stage match. No late applications or changes will be accepted after those dates.
- Match-specific deadlines for Sounders FC’s Phase One home matches must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 24 (Cruz Azul), 2:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, July 27 (Santos Laguna) and 2:00 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 30 (Club Tijuana).
Additionally, media should note the following when applying for Leagues Cup credentials:
- MLS or LIGA MX regular season club or league credentials will not be accepted.
- No credential applications will be accepted after the deadline.
- The amount of credentials per media outlet will be limited.
- Field access is available for photographers with professional-grade equipment only. No other media members, including non-rights TV crews, will receive field access.
- All approved media will have access to the press box and post-match media work areas, such as the press conference.
- Photo agencies must be on assignment from a specific news outlet and must provide written proof from assignment or photo editor.
- Media present at the venue must follow all Leagues Cup and stadium guidelines.
- Media who are approved for credentials should not wear apparel supporting any of the tournament's competing teams, including soccer jerseys or any other team-branded attire.

- All accredited media will be required to follow the Leagues Cup Media Guidelines as part of the credentialing process.
- Credentials are only to be used for working functions. Tickets to view a match must be purchased separately.
