Sounders FC 2 extends four-match unbeaten streak with road draw at OKC Energy FC

Alfaro 9/11

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 (9-11-8, 35 points) kept its four-match unbeaten streak alive with a 2-2 draw at OKC Energy FC (10-5-12, 42 points) on Sunday evening. Forward Victor Mansaray and defender Tony Alfaro provided the scoring for S2, with Alfaro's last-gasp equalizer coming three minutes into second-half stoppage time. The Rave Green are now tied for ninth in the Western Conference with two matches remaining and sit two points below the postseason cutoff line. S2 looks to continue its playoff push with a tilt at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, September 17 (6:00 p.m. PT / Live-streamed on SoundersFC.com).

The host side began the scoring in the 11th minute on a goal by Kyle Hyland. Hyland dribbled to the top left corner of the 18-yard-box and struck a low, well-hit shot to the corner of Charlie Lyon's far post for the 1-0 lead.

S2 found the equalizer in the 53rd minute with a goal by Mansaray. Forward Irvin Parra chipped a free-kick from outside the area, where he connected with a charging Mansaray. Just feet from the goalkeeper, the second-year Homegrown Player managed to tap the ball into the net to level the score at 1-1.

OKC Energy FC regained the lead in the 60th minute on a goal by Linus Olsson. Michael Thomas sent a long pass to Olsson, who snuck a shot past goalkeeper Charlie Lyon on the counter-attack. Lyon was replaced by Matt Bersano in the 81st minute due to an injury concern, marking Bersano's USL debut.

The Rave Green recorded the equalizer in the match's final moments to salvage the road point. After a frenetic pace pushed Seattle into OKC Energy FC's area, Parra launched a throw-in from the corner into the center of the 18-yard-box. After dropping into a crowded space, the ball tucked into the bottom right corner of the net from the foot of Alfaro.

It marked the fourth consecutive match that S2 recorded the game-tying or game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes of play. Ezra Hendrickson's side continues its season-ending road swing with a match at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, September 17.
