SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 today announced that it is exercising the 2016 contract options of Oalex Anderson, Carlos Patino and Myron Samuel. Midfielder Amadou Sanyang and goalkeeper Tyler Miller are also set to return for 2016 and are already under contract for next season.
Additionally, the club has declined the contract options of the following players: goalkeeper Danny Faundez; defenders Ashani Fairclough, Giuliano Frano, Aaron Long and Nick Miele; midfielders Duncan McCormick, Sérgio Mota Mello and Pablo Rossi; in addition to forward Sam Garza.
“2015 has been an exciting year for the developmental side of the club and we’re happy with the progress that was made with S2 in our inaugural season,” said Sounders FC 2 General Manager Andrew Opatkiewicz. “The group of players that contributed were diverse, but all of them put forward a great effort and we are extremely appreciative of that. We’re pleased to be welcoming some of them back for 2016, and are especially excited about the prospect of some of our young prospects joining the First Team for preseason training. For those who aren’t returning, we wish them the best in their careers going forward.”
Along with S2 forward Oalex Anderson and goalkeeper Tyler Miller, recently released midfielder Sérgio and defender Ashani Fairclough will join the Sounders FC First Team in preseason after each player earned valuable minutes in S2’s inaugural season.
