PREVIOUS MEETING: Seattle fell 3-0 on the road at Toyota Stadium on March 18. Roland Lamah recorded a brace and Maxi Urruti added a goal of his own.

PREVIOUS HOME MEETING: The Sounders dispatched FC Dallas 4-0 in the penultimate match of the 2017 regular season. Will Bruin earned a brace, while Víctor Rodríguez and Lamar Neagle each found the back of the net as well.

HOME COOKING: The Sounders have not lost at home to FC Dallas in all competitions since 2011. Seattle has outscored FCD 27-4 in that span, including 15-0 in the last four matches.

UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES: The Sounders enter Sunday on a season-high seven-match unbeaten streak, including four consecutive wins. Seattle is just five points outside of a playoff position with a game in hand.

STEFAN SAVING: The Sounders’ Stefan Frei leads all MLS goalkeepers in Expected Goals Against (xGA) Differential with 4.46. He has conceded 22 goals this season, but opponents had a statistical probability of scoring 26.46 goals against him, meaning he singlehandedly kept out 4.46 would-be tallies.

(L-R) Nicolás Lodeiro, Raúl Ruidíaz and Will Bruin celebrate Bruin’s game-winner vs. Minnesota | Rich Moll

TWO-HEADED MONSTER: Sounders Head Coach Brian Schmetzer has been experimenting with a 4-4-2 formation, a shift from his usual 4-2-3-1, since the arrival of forward Raúl Ruidíaz, and it has yielded tremendous results so far in its brief cameos.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD: Two of FC Dallas’ biggest midfield cogs have departed since the last time these two teams met in March. Playmaking No. 10 Mauro Díaz left for the United Arab Emirates, while FCD sent Homegrown U.S. national teamer Kellyn Acosta to the Colorado Rapids in a trade for forward Dominique Badji.

RARE SLIP: FC Dallas is coming off its first home defeat of the season last weekend, a surprising 3-1 loss to the last-place San Jose Earthquakes.

ROLAND ALONG: FCD is led by midfielder Roland Lamah, who has eight goals and five assists on the season. He’s had to carry much of the offensive burden since the departure of Mauro Díaz and is a big reason why Dallas has maintained its lead atop the West.
