The Seattle Sounders have learned their first MLS opponent of the 2020: Chicago Fire FC. The defending MLS Cup champions will host the Fire at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, March 1 at 12:00 p.m. PT.
The complete regular season slate, including match dates, times, locations and national television schedule, will be announced at a later date.
The Sounders are 6-5-0 in MLS season openers, with 10 of the 11 matches at CenturyLink Field. Seattle boasts an 8-2-4 record against the Fire in the regular season, including a 4-0-2 mark at home. The last time these two sides met, the Rave Green collected a 4-2 win on the road in Week 3 of the 2019 MLS regular season.
New this season, Sounders FC will provide a limited-time offer for a Championship Celebration Four-Match Pack, which includes tickets to four of team’s most anticipated matches of the upcoming season: the home opener vs. Fire FC, the season-closing Fan Appreciation Match, and home matches against LAFC and the Portland Timbers.
