The Seattle Sounders visit FC Dallas on Sunday (2 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) in their second match of the MLS season. Here is the Delta Starting XI:
NOTES:
- Nicolás Lodeiro (right midfoot sprain) and Will Bruin (concussion) will miss the match. Lodeiro did not travel to the Sounders’ midweek CONCACAF Champions League match at Chivas while Bruin exited just eight minutes into that match with a head injury.
- With Lodeiro and Bruin’s absences, Clint Dempsey slots into the lone forward role in Head Coach Brian Schmetzer’s 4-2-3-1 formation with Magnus Wolff Eikrem playing underneath as the No. 10.
- Fullback Kelvin Leerdam will make his first start of the season after making his 2018 debut as a substitute against Chivas midweek. Leerdam had previously not played because of an ankle injury he sustained in February.
- Handwalla Bwana will make his first career MLS start on Sunday after making his initial First Team start on March 7 against Chivas at home. Bwana came on as a substitute in the Sounders’ MLS season opener against LAFC.
