The Seattle Sounders have surged to a season-high No. 3 in the latest MLS Power Rankings following their 3-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. The victory was Seattle’s eighth in a row, which set an MLS single-season record in the post-shootout era.
Raúl RuidÃaz struck in the 12th minute before two goals in four minutes in the second half — an own goal by Graham Zusi and a penalty kick by Nicolás Lodeiro — gave the Sounders all three points.
Seattle is off this weekend for the international break, but it returns to action at BC Place in Vancouver for a colossal Cascadia clash against the Whitecaps on Saturday, Sept. 15 (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
