The Seattle Sounders have jumped to third in the latest edition of the MLS Power Rankings following their commanding 4-0 win over FC Dallas last weekend.
“The Sounders have now posted two straight home blowouts, and also have two straight multi-goal road defeats,” wrote MLSSoccer.com. “Finishing the year with a win or draw — and thus guaranteeing home-field advantage in the [Western Conference Semifinals or] Knockout Round — is a pretty, pretty big deal.”
The Sounders leap two spots from last week and have a chance to secure a Knockout Round bye this weekend when they host the Colorado Rapids (1 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Univision-Seattle, 107.7 The End, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS).
