The Seattle Sounders now own the top spot in the latest edition of the MLSSoccer.com Power Rankings, jumping one place from No. 2 last week. The Rave Green are coming off a 1-0 loss at the Portland Timbers midweek and a 3-1 win at the LA Galaxy on Sunday.
The Sounders are currently atop the Western Conference standings with 24 points from 13 matches.
“Jordan Morris is at 7g/6a on the year, putting the US men's national team winger on pace to surpass his 2019 totals in fewer matches,” wrote MLSSoccer.com contributor Jonathan Sigal. “That’s just one highlight for the Sounders, who have wins in three of their last four and a league-high +17 goal differential. There’s a reason they’re the defending MLS Cup champions and approaching dynasty status.”
Seattle will host Cascadia rival the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at CenturyLink Field (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
