- Head Coach Brian Schmetzer has rotated his squad and is employing a 5-3-2 formation, a shift from his usual 4-3-2-1.


- Jonathan Campbell makes his Sounders debut at center back with Romàn Torres and Kim Kee-hee, while Saad Abdul-Salaam and Nouhou replace Kelvin Leerdam and Brad Smith, respectively, at fullback.


- Alex Roldan makes his first start of the 2019 MLS regular season.


- Will Bruin makes his first start since April 13 against Toronto FC, when he scored twice in a 3-2 win.


- Chad Marshall (right knee inflammation), Gustav Svensson (left hamstring strain), Víctor Rodríguez (left hamstring strain) and Jordan Morris (right hamstring strain) all remained in Seattle.
