Seattle Sounders part ways with Homegrown forward Seyi Adekoya

Seattle Sounders Head Coach Brian Schmetzer confirmed on Tuesday that the club has parted ways with forward Seyi Adekoya.

Adekoya, 22, signed a Homegrown contract prior to the 2017 season after three seasons at UCLA. The Seattle native made two First Team appearances last season, including a start at Columbus Crew SC in May. He played 13 matches for Sounders FC 2, including six starts.

“I just didn’t see him getting much playing time here,” Schmetzer said. “Seyi is a good kid, he’s one of our Homegrowns. We wish him nothing but the best of luck. He’s a nice kid and we wish him well in the future.”
