Uruguay has called up Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro for their two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches vs. Venezuela and Colombia in October.
La Celeste will host Venezuela on Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. PT at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo before traveling to Metropolitano Roberto Melendez in Colombia for a 1:30 p.m. PT match on Oct. 11.
Lodeiro started and went 60 minutes in Uruguay’s 1-0 WCQ loss to Argentina on Sept. 1 before sitting during Uruguay’s 4-0 win over Paraguay on Sept. 6. He has two assists in five WCQ matches so far.
Uruguay is currently first in CONMEBOL qualifying with 16 points from eight matches. Colombia is in fourth with 13 points, while Venezuela is in 10th with just two points.
