SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC today selected three players on the second day of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, with the league holding the Third and Fourth Rounds via conference call. In the Third Round, the Rave Green made Georgetown midfielder Doug Goodman the 12th selection (56th overall) before taking defender Jake Stovall from Wright State with the 22nd pick (66th overall). Seattle then chose Seattle University defender and Sounders FC Academy product Kyle Bjornethun with the 22nd and final selection of the Fourth Round (88th overall).

The Centerville, Ohio native earned First Team All-Horizon League and NSCAA Third Team All-Great Lakes Region honors as a senior in 2016. After being named Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2013, Stovall followed up with a sophomore campaign in which he scored a career-high six goals on just seven shots on goal.
Bjornethun, 21, was a four-time All-Western Athletic Conference selection at Seattle University, including three First Team honors, and was named WAC Defender of the Year in 2015 and 2016. A member of the 2016 MAC Hermann Watch List, Bjornethun started each of his 85 appearances across four seasons with the Redhawks under Head Coach Pete Fewing, totaling nine career goals and four assists. Among his many accolades, the Snohomish native was a NSCAA Second Team All-American in 2015, two-time NSCAA All-West Region selection and two-time member of the WAC All-Tournament Team. Bjornethun is a graduate of Glacier Peak High School and a Sounders FC Academy alumni.
