Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan entered in the 85th minute for Kellyn Acosta on Tuesday in the United States’ 1-0 friendly win over Mexico at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Roldan earned his fifth cap in his second straight substitute appearance for the U.S. during this FIFA international break after making a cameo against Brazil last Friday.
New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute off a feed from Wigan Athletic left back Antonee Robinson.
Roldan returns to the Sounders ahead of a massive Cascadia clash at the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at BC Place (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
