Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan starts for United States in friendly against Chile; Jordan Morris on bench

Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan will start for the United States national team on Tuesday in a friendly against Chile at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas (4:55 p.m. PT; ESPN2, UniMás, Univision Deportes). Sounders forward Jordan Morris is available off the bench.


Roldan earned his eighth cap last Thursday when he entered in the 68th minute in the U.S.’ 1-0 win over Ecuador in Orlando, Fla. Morris earned his 26th cap after starting and playing 68 minutes. Former Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin replaced Morris.


Chile is currently No. 13 in FIFA’s international rankings and is the reigning Copa America champion.
