The Seattle Sounders have climbed four spots in Major League Soccer’s Week 19 Power Rankings following their convincing 3-1 road win over the Colorado Rapids on July 4. Seattle is No. 10 heading into the international break, moving up from No. 14 the week before.
Clint Dempsey scored twice and added an assist to Will Bruin en route to being named the Alcatel MLS Player of the Week and a Team of the Week selection. Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer was also named Coach of the Week.
The Sounders drew German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 last Saturday in a friendly and will return to MLS play on Wednesday, July 19 when they host D.C. United (7:30 p.m. PT; Q13 FOX, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS).
