The Seattle Sounders have continued to rise in Week 24’s MLS Power Rankings following a 2-1 home win over Minnesota United last Sunday.
The Sounders are on a nine-match unbeaten streak, tying the club record set in 2011, and have surged to No. 3 on MLSSoccer.com (No. 4 last week), ESPN.com (No. 4) and SI.com (No. 4).
“Seattle's serious run means nobody should be too surprised if they make it all the way back to MLS Cup this year,” wrote MLSSoccer.com.
Seattle will try to break the franchise record of nine matches unbeaten when it visits the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM), before hosting the Portland Timbers at CenturyLink Field on Sunday (6:30 p.m. PT; FS1, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS).
