Will Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris return to the pitch in Leg 2 of the Western Conference Championship on Thursday (7:30 p.m. PT; ESPN, ESPN Deportes, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS) at CenturyLink Field? Head Coach Brian Schmetzer is optimistic.
"I'm hoping that the game goes in some way, shape or form that I can put him on the field,” Schmetzer said on Wednesday.
Morris has missed the last nine matches, including three in the postseason, since straining his hamstring on Sept. 10 against the LA Galaxy. He has trained all week in practice, and his speed and ability to get in behind defenders would be a massive boost for Seattle’s attack. The AT&T Rookie of the Year last season, Morris recorded three goals and one assist in 23 MLS appearances in 2017.
The Sounders hold a 2-0 aggregate lead over the Dynamo and have a chance to return to their second consecutive MLS Cup.
