Sounders FC 2 today announced that it has agreed to a contract with midfielder Irvin Raul Parra, who is set be eligible for Saturday’s match at Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. PT with a live-stream running on SoundersFC.com, as the Rave Green (7-9-5, 26 points) look to extend their four-match winning streak. Per USL and club policy, terms of the agreements are not being disclosed.
“As we look to make another postseason run, our club is excited to bring in a skillful and passionate player like Parra,” Head Coach Ezra Hendrickson said. “Not only does he make our team better short-term, but we believe he can continue to improve and rise in our organization.”
Parra, 22, signs with S2 after spending the past four seasons in Germany. Last season, the midfielder made 10 appearances for Kaiserslautern II after scoring two goals in 17 appearances in his first campaign with the club.
In the 2013-2014 campaign, Parra set career-highs with 30 appearances, 28 starts and six goals while competing for Zweibrücken of the Regionalliga – the fourth division of soccer in Germany. Parra began his professional career in 2012 with Homburg, where he played in three matches, all starts.
Born in Inglewood, California, Parra played youth soccer with the Pateadores U-18 Development Academy squad, which won the 2010-2011 Development Academy National Championship.
