Seattle Sounders FC 2 defender Michael Nelson has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 4 after helping S2 earn its first win of the season, a 1-0 result over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on April 17.
Making his first professional appearance, Nelson teamed up with first team players Tony Alfaro and Oniel Fisher, along with Cameroonian international Nouhou Tolo, to keep Switchbacks FC's attack at bay in the 1-0 shutout win at Starfire Stadium.
Additionally, goalkeeper Tyler Miller earned a reserve spot on the Team of the Week. The Northwestern product and second-year pro recorded six saves in Sunday's contest as S2 kept a clean-sheet for the first time this season.
