The Seattle Sounders have been the second-most successful Major League Soccer club during the regular season since 2010, according to a graph from Sports Illustrated’s Brian Straus.
The Sounders have five 50-plus point seasons in the last seven years and have averaged 54.6 points per season, with only the LA Galaxy have averaging more. The Sounders are also one of just five teams to win the Supporters’ Shield in that span, with the Galaxy and Red Bull New York each winning twice.
Seattle has qualified for the postseason in each of the past eight seasons and will host a Knockout Round match against Sporting Kansas City on Thursday (7 p.m. PT; FS1, UniMas, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM).
