Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer said on Monday that defender Roman Torres is day-to-day with a left hamstring strain.
Torres started last weekend’s 1-1 draw at the San Jose Earthquakes, but exited in just the 15th minute. Torres played two full matches for Panama at the end of March before sitting in the Sounders’ March 31 scoreless home draw against Atlanta United.
Gustav Svensson, who filled in for Torres against Atlanta, entered for Torres against San Jose and will likely start at center back again in Friday’s away match at the Vancouver Whitecaps (7 p.m. PT; Q13 FOX, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM) if Torres is unable to play.
