Still unbeaten to start the 2020 regular season, the Sounders were ranked the No. 2 team in the league in MLSsoccer.com’s Week 2 Power Rankings.
After getting top billing in the first two editions of the weekly column, the Sounders fell one spot following the team’s 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew SC on Saturday. The Rave Green outplayed their opponent and earned a come-from-behind point while still missing a key piece.
“The Sounders attempted 17 shots in last weekend’s draw against Columbus, but couldn’t score from open play,” wrote MLSsoccer.com contributor Jonathan Sigal. “It’s also a mixed bag on the injury front, with Gustav Svensson back in the XI and Nicolas Lodeiro still out.”
The Rave Green return to action on Saturday as they visit the Houston Dynamo in their first Western Conference matchup of the season (5:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
