Seamon placed on Disabled List

Midfielder Michael Seamon has been placed on the disabled list due to a lateral ankle tendon injury.

RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC announced today that midfielder Michael Seamon has been placed on the disabled list due to a lateral ankle tendon injury.


As a result, Seamon, 23, will miss the remainder of the season. In his only competitive appearance this season, he started and played 85 minutes in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. He also started all eight Major League Soccer Reserve League games, logging 719 minutes, the most of any field player.


Seamon made eight appearances with three starts in MLS last season. His last league appearance was September 9, 2010. This is Seamon’s second MLS season with Sounders FC.


Seattle travels to Costa Rica for a CONCACAF Champions League group stage match against CS Herediano at 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday night. Sounders FC then returns home for an MLS match against D.C. United on Saturday night. First kick is 6 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
