SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC 2 today announced that goalkeeper Tyler Miller has undergone successful thumb surgery on his right hand. Miller is set to begin rehabilitation immediately following the procedure. The thumb ligament reconstruction procedure was performed in Seattle by doctors at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
Miller, the 22-year-old Sounders FC 2015 MLS SuperDraft selection, signed with S2 on July 9 after a stint playing in the German Fourth Division. Miller has one appearance for the Rave Green, a 4-0 shutout victory over Arizona United SC on July 12.
S2 is set to face defending USL champion Sacramento Republic FC on the road this Saturday, August 1, with kickoff at Bonney Field slated for 8:00 p.m. PT (live-stream available via SoundersFC.com).
