Seattle Sounders defender Reed Baker-Whiting has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 35 following his excellent two-way performance in the club's scoreless draw against Nashville SC on Saturday.
Baker-Whiting, 18, got the nod at left back for the road match in the absence of Nouhou, who was suspended due to yellow card accumulation. The young Homegrown Player stepped up, blending gritty defending with several exciting forays into the attack. In addition to helping keep reigning MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar quiet, he posted three successful dribbles, three tackles, eight duels won, eight recoveries, and he completed 80 percent of his 50 pass attempts.
The Sounders return to action on Wednesday as they host Western Conference side the LA Galaxy (7:30 p.m. PT | Watch Free on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS) on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field in a fixture with massive playoff implications.
