Major League Soccer on Thursday named Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz to the Week 20 MLS Team of the Week following his game-winning performance off the bench against FC Dallas on Wednesday night. This marks the second consecutive start for Ruidíaz on the MLS Team of the Week.
The Sounders rotated the squad for their midweek match, bringing in seven new starters from the side that beat Portland 6-2 in Week 19. With the match scoreless at the hour mark, Ruidíaz and Nicolás Lodeiro entered the fray to try and tip the balance of play. It paid immediate dividends as Lodeiro picked out Ruidíaz, who collected his own rebound from a blocked shot before clipping a shot into the absolute top corner from a tight angle to take a 1-0 lead. Seattle would hold onto the lead, picking up three massive points and their third consecutive win across all competitions.
Ruidíaz and the Rave Green return to action on Saturday as they visit the Columbus Crew (2:30 p.m. PT; FOX, FOX Deportes, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360AM) in a rematch of the 2020 MLS Cup.
