Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance in the 3-0 win over LAFC at CenturyLink Field on Friday.
In the span of four minutes, Lodeiro put the Rave Green 2-0 up over the Black & Gold as he confidently dispatched a pair of penalty kicks. The midfield maestro also helped set up Raúl Ruidíaz’s decisive third goal, winning back possession and playing a pass to João Paulo, who subsequently supplied the assist for Seattle’s No. 9.
Lodeiro and the Sounders return to action on Wednesday as they take on the Portland Timbers at Providence Park (7:00 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
