It's been an eventful few weeks for new Seattle Sounders Designated player Nicolás Lodeiro. Just days after arriving in Seattle and officially signing with the club, the midfielder went a full 90 minutes in his debut, earned two consecutive spots on MLS Team of the Week and picked up a pile of assists in just two matches. On Sunday, Lodeiro earned a goal of his own and the strike is up for best in MLS for week 23.
Lodeiro opened the scoring for the Rave Green in the 24th minute on a beautiful left footed shot on an assist by Andreas Ivanschitz. Lodeiro picked up an assist - his third of the season - on the second goal of the match, scored by rookie Jordan Morris. First round voting for MLS Goal of the Week runs now through Tuesday afternoon, with the semifinal matchups announced on Wednesday.
