The staff at SoundersFC.com just got a little bit bigger.
Today we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve added Ryan Krasnoo to our staff as the Senior Coordinator of Digital Content, giving SoundersFC.com a bigger and better presence on the team beat than we’ve had in the past. Ryan joins us following two years as a writer and editor at SI.com, and he’s also worked for MLSsoccer.com, the Big Ten Network and, while earning his degree at the University of Michigan, the Michigan Daily.
What does that mean for the site? It means we’ll have an experienced beat writer with the team wherever and whenever the players take the field, starting this weekend in Portland. It means better access, deeper storylines, smarter conversations and more coverage of your team.
We’re also excited to introduce a new Twitter handle for comprehensive coverage of the club, @SoundersBeat. Here you’ll find all the latest news and insight on the club in one place, and all the voices you’ve come to know on SoundersFC.com. That means team coverage from veteran Sounders reporter Ari Liljenwall and all the analytical breakdowns from Will Parchman. You’ll also find tremendous insight and frank conversation from Steve Zakuani on the Scouting Report and the Sound of Soccer podcast, and the quick hits from Matt Johnson on Rave TV to get you ready for the game or put an end to a long day of Sounders soccer.
Adding Ryan and @SoundersBeat are both the latest steps in an evolution at SoundersFC.com. You may have noticed we overhauled the site earlier this year with a new look and sharper presentation, something we were very excited about after months of work behind the scenes. That also means improved matchday graphics and imagery on the site this year, and a look and feel we’re thrilled to see every day when we get to work.
We’re also increasing our coverage of the Sounders FC Academy as we look to cover the players making an impact at the youth and college levels. Later this week you’ll see the first in a series of articles tracking all the Sounders Academy players on college campuses this fall, and what to expect from the college soccer scene in the Puget Sound. The future stars of the Sounders are playing right now, and we're out to let you know who to watch.
Other things won’t change. @LIVESounders is still the destination for a combination of in-game snark and celebration. Our S2 coverage is still comprehensive with a new video series from S2 reporter Cameron Rizzardini recapping the biggest storylines at Starfire Sports. Dan Poss and Jane Gershovich will still offer all-access looks during Sounders training sessions and games as two of the best local photographers in sports. And we've even wrangled veteran local reporter Don Ruiz to chip in when he's not enjoying his retirement.
The highlights and interviews you’ve always watched on SoundersFC.com are all just part of what you can find in our video section. Thanks to longtime Digital Media Video Producer and locker room fly-on-the-wall Bryan Babcock, you can expect more video series like Fuerza Roman, To Be A Sounder, Cascadia Uncovered and Jordan Morris: Year One.
We’re excited about where we’re headed, and hopeful you’ll follow along. Thanks for reading, watching, listening and supporting.
