What. A. Hit.
After Seattle Sounders midfielder Gustav Svensson opened his 2018 scoring account with an absolute screamer in a 3-1 win over Minnesota United on Sunday, MLS has nominated the Swedish international for Week 8 Goal of the Week. CAST YOUR VOTE FOR SVENSSON HERE.
In the 23rd minute, a 22-pass sequence culminated with Cristian Roldan laying a ball off for Svensson 25 yards from goal. He took one touch before firing a devastating strike past a helpless Bobby Shuttleworth.
Svensson joins LAFC’s Laurent Ciman, Chicago’s Aleksandar Katai, Sporting Kansas City’s Jimmy Medranda and Real Salt Lake’s Albert Rusnak as nominees. Voting will take place until midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday and you may only vote once.
