What a start, Raúl!
In his first MLS start since joining the Seattle Sounders earlier this month, Raúl Ruidíaz's game-winning goal against San Jose on Wednesday earned him a nomination for Week 22’s MLS Goal of the Week.

In the 62nd minute, Cristian Roldan led a counterattack down the right side. In a match that had lacked any real significant opportunities for both sides, the Sounders broke the deadlock when Ruidíaz took Roldan’s pass off his chest and in one motion hit a half-volley from the top of the box to the far post that beat a helpless Andrew Tarbell in net.
Ruidíaz joins Kellyn Acosta (COL), Michael Barrios (DAL), Alphonso Davies (VAN) and Bradley Wright-Phillips (NY) as nominees. Voting will take place until noon Pacific Time on Wednesday, and you may only vote once.
