Stefan Frei came up huge again.
The Seattle Sounders goalkeeper made a terrific one-handed stop on New York City FC’s Sean Okoli in the 86th minute of the Sounders’ 2-1 loss on Saturday en route to a nomination for Major League Soccer’s Week 16 Save of the Week.
The former Sounders Homegrown Player Okoli slipped through the center of Seattle’s defense and looked to add a late insurance tally, but Frei reacted quickly, dropping onto the flooding Yankee Stadium pitch and parrying away Okoli’s effort.
