Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders midfielder Ozzie Alonso to the Week 23 Team of the Week following Saturday's 2-1 win against Minnesota United FC.
Alonso, 32, captained the Rave Green for the full 90 minutes and held Minnesota's attack to a lone first-half goal. Alongside Gustav Svensson, Alonso boosted a defensive effort that saw Kim Kee-hee go down with a right ankle injury and a halftime swap at left back between Nouhou and Waylon Francis.
The Sounders look to extend their seven-match unbeaten streak at home against first-place FC Dallas on Sunday evening (7:00 p.m. PT, FS1, Youtube TV, 950 KJR, El Rey 1360 AM; TICKETS)
