MLSSoccer.com on Monday named Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan to its Week 16 Team of the Week bench for his efforts in a 2-2 road draw at the Portland Timbers.
Roldan started his first match of the season at center attacking midfield, higher up the pitch than his normal place alongside Osvaldo Alonso. After Brad Evans was sent off right before halftime, Roldan dropped to Evans’ right back position and helped keep Portland off the score sheet in the second half.
