Major League Soccer has named Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey and midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro to its Week 22 Team of the Week for their performances in the Rave Green's 4-0 win against Minnesota United last Saturday.
Dempsey registered a brace and an assist and leads the team with nine goals this season. This is Dempsey's third appearance in the Team of the Week after his performances in Weeks 8 and 19. Lodeiro placed a rolling, weighted pass from the center of the park, which fed an open Jordan Morris just above the 18-yard-box to extend the Sounders' lead in the second half, earning his second Team of the Week honors.
MLS also named Cristian Roldan and Chad Marshall to the bench. Marshall registered an assist to Clint Dempsey's first goal of the night after midfielder Gustav Svensson's looping pass to the back post, while Roldan has continued to be instrumental in the Sounders' midfield this season.
